Violet Beier

Violet Grace Beier, 85, of Langdon, ND passed away November 20, 2009 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Violet Grace Beier was born on October 26, 1924 in Alsen, ND to Jacob and Minnie (Schanz) Pfeifer.  Violet was united in marriage to Joseph Beier on August 11, 1944.

She made her home in Langdon where she raised five children.  Violet's son Elroy was the first casualty from Cavalier county in the Vietnam War, he was 21 years old.  Violet was proud to be a Gold Star Mother.  She never missed a Memorial Day or Veterans Day Program.  Violet was a member of the VFW and the American Legion Auxiliary. 

She had a passion for flowers.  She loved spending time with her children and adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was the kindest, most non-judgemental person you would ever know.  She will truly be missed.

Violet is survived by her sons Gary (Marilyn) Beier of Pekin, ND, Daryl Beier of Cavalier, ND, John (Agnes) Beier of Grafton, ND, daughter Mitzi (Harley) Brown of Langdon, 16 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren, sisters Rosaline Jorgenson of Minnesota, Ruth Scott of Fargo, ND, brother Art Pfeifer of Wyoming, sister-in-law Margaret Pfeifer of Langdon, ND.

She was preceded in death by her husband, son Elroy Beier, granddaughter Rachel Beier, brothers Ray Pfeifer and Harold Pfeifer and sister Phyllis Long.

VISITATION will take place on Tuesday November 24, 2009 from 4 to 7pm at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES will be held on Wednesday November 25, 2009 at 2:00pm at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT will take place at the Lebanon Cemetery of Langdon, ND.
