Verna Kartes

Verna Kartes, 81, of Langdon, ND passed away April 1, 2008 at the Maple Manor care Center of Langdon, ND.

Verna Koehmstedt was born November 26, 1926 at Maida, ND to Victor and Gladys (Howatt) Koehmstedt. She grew up and attended school at Maida and at the St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Langdon.

Verna and William J. Kartes were united in marriage in 1945 at Mt. Carmel, ND. 

They farmed in the Mt. Carmel Area until they retired to Langdon.  She worked at Maple Manor Care Center for many years.

She is survived by children: Nick Kartes of Langdon, ND; Jolean Stevenson of Arizona Carol Hansen Minneapolis; Joe Kartes of Minneapolis; Don Kartes of Mandan, ND; Margaret “Peggy”  Holman of Minneapolis; Donna Kartes of Langdon; Belle Kartes of Jamestown, ND; David (Doreen) Kartes of California; Bobbie (Mark) Faydo of Minneapolis; Becky (Tim) Wilkinson of New Zealand; Dale (Lynn) Kartes of Mapleton, ND; Kevin (Michelle) Kartes of Albertville, MN; numerous grandchilidren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Anna Mae Hansel of Langdon, Margery Coyle of Michigan, Helen Haaven of Grand Forks, ND, and brother Bernard “Ole” of North Carolina along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Preceded in death by her husband William, daughters Sheila Kartes, Janet Lorenz, Kay Suppon, and sister Eleanor Harigree

Visitation will take place from 4pm to 9pm on Friday April 4, 2008 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

Rosary at 7:00pm Friday evening at the Brooks Funeral Home.

Services will take place on Saturday April 5, 2008 at 10:00 O ‘Clock at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Church of Mt. Carmel, ND.

Interment will take place at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Catholic Cemetery of Mt. Carmel, ND.

I am sooo sorry to hear about your mom, we had such a good time at maple manor before her passing while I worked there. I will keep you all in my prayers.
