Russell Irwin, 84, of Langdon, ND, passed away December 9, 2006 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND. 

Russell was born July 5, 1922 to Elmer and Luella J. (Byers) Irwin at their farm home in Langdon, Township, Cavalier County.  As a youth he was active in 4-H activities.  He graduated from Langdon High School and attended NDSU in Fargo, ND.  Russell operated the family farm until the fall of 1982 when he moved to Langdon.  Russell loved fishing and hunting, bowling and curling and was active with the Masons and the Shriners.

Russell is survived by his sister and brother-in-law, Millicent and Warren Waind of Langdon, sister-in-law Helen Irwin of Grand Forks, ND, local cousins Zelpha Stalker Malo and Vivan Baird, 16 nieces and nephews, numerous great and great-great nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings: Geneva Anderson; Juanita Johnson; Dan Irwin; Betty Schwenke, four special great-nephews: Jeff Bakken; Matthew McConnell; Scott Kennedy; and Timothy Waind.

VISITATION:   Will begin at 3:00pm with a 7:00pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.
