Orland Gronhovd, 76, of rural Nekoma, ND passed away Sunday November 19, 2006 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Orland Gronhovd was born November 22, 1929 to Oscar and Loretta (Moen) Gronhovd on the Gronhovd farmstead three miles south of Nekoma, ND.  Orland attended Highland Center School through the 8th grade and then attended Nekoma High School where he graduated in 1948.  Orland then began his lifelong career of farming.  Carol (Kaye) Sullivan and Orland were united in marriage on April 3, 1961 at Calio, ND.  They made their home on the Gronhovd farmstead in NE Highland Center Township and spent many winters in Arizona.  Orland served as a director of the Nekoma Farmers Elevator Board for thirty years, served on the Nekoma School Board, was active in the Nekoma Lutheran Church where he served on the Church Council and served in various capacities in Highland Center Township.

Orland is survived by his wife ‘Kaye’ of rural Nekoma, ND, children:  Larry (Theresa) Gronhovd of Glendale, AZ; Sheri (James) Schrock of Harwood, ND; Ronald Gronhovd of Langdon and Daniel Gronhovd of Langdon, grandchildren: Kirsten, Matthew and Monica Gronhovd of Glendale, AZ; Gretchen Schrock of Harwood, ND; Alexander Orland Gronhovd of Langdon, ND; and step-grandchildren Kari Krom of Langdon, ND and Becky and Kristi Krom of Grand Forks, ND,  sisters: Lucille Heck of Nekoma, ND; Phyllis (Jim) Chernich of Hoffman Estates, IL; Gladys (Bert) Bredeson of Edmore, ND; Shirley Howatt of Los Angeles, CA and Carol (Roger) Johnston of Nekoma, ND.

He was preceded in death by his parents and an infant brother.

VISITATION  Friday November 24, 2006 beginning at 4pm with a 7pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.  Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of services at the church on Saturday.

SERVICES  Saturday November 25, 2006 at the Nekoma Lutheran Church of Nekoma, ND at 10:00 am.
