Mathilda (Tillie) Schnitzler

Mathilda (Tillie) Schnitzler, 94, of Langdon, ND passed away December 19, 2006 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon, ND.

Mathilda (Tillie) Elizabeth Schuler was born September 21, 1912 to Joseph and Margaret (Montag) Schuler at their farm near Mt. Carmel, ND.  She grew up in the Mt. Carmel area and attended country school there.  Tillie and John Schnitzler were united in marriage April 22, 1941 at Mt. Carmel, ND.  They lived and farmed north of Langdon, ND.  She was active in the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and the Cavalier County Senior Citizen’s Club.

Tillie is survived by her children:  Leonard (Mary Ellen) Schnitzler, Woodinville, WA; Robert (Ann) Schnitzler, Longmont, CO; Mary (James) Hvidston, East Grand Forks, MN; Vera (Dan) Stremick, Walhalla, ND; and Mark Schnitzler, Langdon, ND, 12 grandchildren, and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, grandchild Joseph Schnitzler, brothers Joseph Frank, Raymond O., Charles George, William Andrew, Leo Michael, and sister Anna Hoffarth.

VISITATION  Friday December 22, 2006 beginning at 3:00pm with a 7:00pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.  Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Saturday.

SERVICES  Saturday December 23, 2006 at 2:00pm at the St. Alphonsus Catholic church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT  Calvary Cemetery, Langdon, ND

In Lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital, the Maple Manor Care Center, the Cavalier county Senior Citizen’s Center or place of the givers choosing.
