Marcus (Mark) Welsh, 84, of Langdon, ND died Wednesday April 26, 2006 at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

Marcus (Mark) Dunford Welsh was born to James Hubert and Caroline (Dunford) Welsh on May 11, 1921 in Harvey Township, Cavalier County, near Langdon, ND.  Marcus was united in marriage to Shirley Hill Smith on September 24, 1955 and they lived and farmed in Harvey Center.  Mark retired from farming in 1972. Mark and Sally Reiten Lorenz were united in marriage on July 9, 1978.  They wintered in Mesa for 22 years.  Marcus was a member of the Langdon United Methodist Church, Masonic Order of the Lebanon Lodge #34, the Scottish Rite, the 49er Shrine Club and the Devils Lake Elks Club.

Marcus is survived by his daughter Sharon (Gary) Schultz of Langdon, ND, step-sons: Eugene (Gayle) Smith of West Fargo, ND and James Smith of Newark, Ohio, step-daughter, Mrs. Fran (Francis) Toyama of Honolulu, HI, 8 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren, sisters; Mrs. Lillian Soderstrom of Devils Lake, ND, Mrs. Helen Kitchin of Langdon, ND and Mrs. Lois (Gerald) Peterson of Langdon, ND.

Marcus was preceded in death by his wife Shirley, wife Sally, parents, brother Ralph, and sisters Blanche (Roy) Shortridge and Vivian (Edward) Soderstrom along with many nieces and nephews.

VISITATION  Will begin at 3:oopm Sunday April 30, 2006 with a 7:00pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.  Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Monday.

SERVICES  Monday May 1, 2006 at 10:00am at the United Methodist Church of Langdon

INTERMENT  Harvey Center Cemetery, Rural Langdon, ND
