Glenn Weston
Glenn Weston

Glenn Weston, 69, of Sarles, ND passed away December 1, 2007, after a courageous battle with cancer, under the supervision of Altrue Hospice Care Program, at his daughter’s home in Grand Forks, ND surrounded by his loving family.

Glenn was born April 14, 1938, the fourth child of Erwin and Irene (South) Weston, at their farmhome near Sarles, ND.  He attended and graduated from Sarles High School.  Glenn was united in marriage to Marilyn Dutton on June 24,1961 at Williston, ND.  After their marriage, they lived in Williston where Glenn worked for Montgomery Ward.  Having served in the US Airforces, he was recalled during the Berlin Crisis in late 1961 and was stationed in Toledo, OH.  Upon his discharge, they returned to the area where Glenn worked for the County for a few years before starting his career of farming.  They farmed west of Hannah along highway 20 and later bought a farmstead a mile south of the Canadian border near Sarles, ND.  When they became semi-retired they enjoyed spending winter months in Arizona. Glenn had been active on the Cavalier Rural Electric Board for over 30 years, taking his fathers place when Irwin retired from the board. Glenn was also a board member of the State Electrical Board and Square Butte Electrical Board, a member of the Sarles American Legion, a Border Central School Board Member and an Elevator Board Member. He was also an Elder of Faith Christain Fellowship Church as well as a church usher for many years.

Glenn is survived by his wife Marilyn, son Kent (Suzanne) Weston of Sarles and daughter Kim Johnsen of Grand Forks, ND, mother Irene of Langdon, ND, grandchildren: Luke Weston, Michelle Weston, Rachel Weston, Kathryn Johnsen, Christopher Johnsen, brothers Herb (Marjorie) of Roseau, MN, Richard of Sarles, ND, Harold (Gail) of Sarles, ND and sister Carol of Homer, AK along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by father, sister-in-law Snook Weston, and great nephew Brent Weston, son of Scott and Sue Weston.

PRAYER SERVICE  7:00pm Monday Evening at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

SERVICES  Tuesday December 4, 2007 at 10:00 O ‘Clock at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT  Sarles Cemetery, Sarles, ND.

I was planning to come to the prayer service today but the weather looks too close. I was so sorry to hear about Glenn's home going. It is victory for him but a loss for you left behind. I hold you in my prayers and will talk to you soon. I will be sending a Bible memorial.
