Abba Olson
Albert (Abba) Olson

Albert (Abba) Olson, 85, of Langdon, ND passed away April 17, 2006 surrounded by his wife and children at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo, ND.

Albert Ingvert Olson was born August 4, 1920 to Ole and Oleanna (Ingebregtson) Olson at Langdon, ND.  He grew up and graduated in Langdon.  He entered the United States Army in November of 1942 where he served as a Surgical Tech. and a Radio Repairman.  He was Honorably Discharged in 1946.  Upon his discharge he returned to Langdon and painted as a member of Bill Robillard’s crew.  Albert and Doris Schey were united in marriage on July 21, 1951 at United Lutheran Church in Grand Forks, ND.  They made their home in Langdon.  Abba went to work at Jimmy’s Lounge in Langdon in 1949.  He purchased the business in 1957 and renamed it Abba’s.  He retired in June 2002.  Abba enjoyed spending time with his grandkids, reading and bowling. 

Abba is survived by his wife Doris of Langdon,  daughter, Patty Hellerud of Fargo along with grandchildren Shane and Justin,  daughter, Carol (Jerome) Hartin of Bonifay, FL, son, Dean Olson of Langdon and grandchild Rachel Olson, daughter Connie (Dan) Keller of Dickinson along with grandchildren Mandy and Mitch, daughter Vera (Steven) Erickson of Shorewood, IL and grandchildren Danielle, Alec and Brendan, daughter Tina (Brad) Gustafson of Langdon and grandchildren Ryan, Aaron, Alyssa and Brady, and son David (Amy) Olson of Grand Forks, ND, brothers and sisters; Mabel Peterson of Minneapolis, MN, Lyla (Roy) Herrud of Langdon, Myrtle (Harv) Waterman of Odenton, Maryland, and brother-in-law Don Thornton of Dickinson, ND. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, and brothers and one sister:  Elmer Olson, Walter Olson, Regner Olson and Doris Thornton.

VISITATION Will begin at 2pm Wednesday April 19, 2006 with a 7pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral home of Langdon. 

SERVICES  Thursday April 20, 2006 at 2:00pm at the Presbyterian Church of Langdon, ND.

INTERMENT  Lebanon Cemetery of Langdon, ND
