James Bachman

James Bachman, 35, of Langdon, ND, passed away on Tuesday, August 16, 2011 at Sanford Health in Fargo, ND.

James was born to Patricia (Crockett) and Allan Bachman on January 1, 1976 at Rolla, ND.  He was raised and educated at Langdon, where he graduated from the Langdon High School in the class of 1994.  He went on to Northland Community College in East Grand Forks where he received his degree.  He spent a year in Langdon where he built a home for a local person.  He then furthered his education at Thief River Falls where he received a degree in Drafting.  Jim taught carpentry in Eden Prairie, MN and later in Pipestone, MN.  He could always be found in Langdon during the summers where he worked in carpentry and helped on the family farm.  After teaching Jim moved to Langdon full-time where he owned and operated Bachman Construction.  His true love was the farm: Jim always laid down his hammer during seeding and harvesting and was always there when help was needed on the farm.  He loved to drive to the farm with his windows down, smelling the freshly turned soil and the crops as they grew.  Jim enjoyed bonfires and loved spending time with his family, including his dogs.

Jim is survived by his mother and father: Patty and Allan Bachman; siblings:  Patrick (Kristy) Bachman of Grand Forks, ND; Daren Bachman of Langdon, ND; Rachael Elizabeth Bachman of Langdon, ND; niece and nephews: Jack “Cleetus”, Haley “Booger”, and Andrew “Rocky”; his grandfather: Claude Crockett of Langdon; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Jim was preceded in death by his grandparents: Cleo Crockett & Peter and Neva Bachman, aunts, uncles and cousins.

Services for Jim will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 20, 2011 at the St Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon.

Visitation will be on Friday evening, August 19, 2011 starting at 5:00 with a 7:00 prayer service at the church.
