Condolences:

It wasn't to long ago I was thinking about Walter and you.
I'm sorry to hear of Walters passing. When I told Brian and Kyle about it and if they still remembered him they said yes and also still remember you. You where like Grandparents. Kyle still has the recliner I bought at your moving (Park River) sale. Still in great shape. With Sympathy: Cindy DeWitt

To the Family of Walter Melland.
We are sorry to hear about Walter's passing. Our Prayers and thoughts are with you Mae and Family. Blessings David and Carol Melland Garden Grove, Ca.

So sorry to hear about Walter's passing. The Mellands were good neighbors and friends to the Berggren family. I have a lot of good memories from childhood. I remember when Walter, Fred Swenson, and Dad turned the direction of the roof on your house and your house was added on to, I believe, and so became bigger. I always remember that Walter was a Ford man and when compacts came out in 1960, he had a blue Ford Falcon. I also remember his blue and white Ford Fairlane hardtop, I think--it may have been a '58, but I'm not sure. I remember playing over in the trees at Mabel's in the playhouse with Beverly and Vickie and Mae giving me permanents. One time I had used some bobbypins that had a bit of rust on them and when I got a permanent my hair turned purple until we got it washed out. I also remember, I borrowed my first prom dress from Luanne. It was light pink. I remember how cute Randy was when he was little. I get to see Roger once in a while when I!
go out to Arden's farm so that is good. Those were the days when we all lived a mile apart. I hope this finds all the Melland clan well and happy except for the saddness of losing your dad. Wish I could be at the funeral, but I live five and one half hours away at Carson,N.D. I teach Title I at Cannon Ball Elem. on the Standing Rock Indian Reservation. God will see you through this difficult time. Love, Enid and Charlie Steinkuehler

My sympathies go out to all of you at this sad time - I remember seeing you during your trips to Langdon years ago to see (Aunt) Ilene and family, and Walter's smile, so much like Ilene's..such a strong resemblance. Best wishes for blessed peace.
