Vernon M. Koehmstedt

Vernon Koehmstedt, 79, of Langdon, ND, passed away Monday, September 27, 2010, at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital of Langdon.

 

Vernon was born December 20, 1930, to Anthony Albert and Lena (Villeneuve) Koehmstedt.  He grew up in the Olga/Walhalla area.  He lived in Wales and eventually Langdon.   He helped area farmers with farm labor and in his free time enjoyed going fishing and hunting.

 

Vernon is survived by his siblings:  Victor of Great Falls, MT; Allan of Mayville, WA; Albert of Walhalla; Zella Kuenemon of Rolla, ND; Catherine Fickert of Devils Lake, ND; Helen Hamilton of Washington as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents, parents, sister Marcella Fickert and brother Louis.

 

VISITATION/PRAYER SERVICE- Visitation will take place on Thursday, September 30, from 6 to 8pm with a 7pm Prayer Service at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

 

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held on Friday, October 1, 2010, at 2:00pm at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Olga, ND with visitation for one hour before the time of the mass.

 

INTERMENT  Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery

My sincere sympathy goes out to the family of Vernon. He was guite a fellow with many memories left behind. Always talking and loved to visit or just chat for awhile. Telling stories of hunting and fishing. Stories of past experances. May he now rest in the loving arms of God! Again my deepest sympathy! Joe LaPorte
