Theresa Hiltner

Theresa Hiltner, 80, of Langdon, ND, passed away March 29, 2011 at the Altru Hospital of Grand Forks, ND.

Theresa Lillian Beauchamp was born May 21, 1930 to Henry and Bertha (Jutra) Beauchamp at Olga, ND. She attended grade school in Olga and high school in Langdon at St. Alphonsus, graduating in the class of 1948. After graduation she went on to attend Business College in Grand Forks where she worked for an insurance company.

Theresa and George Hiltner were united in marriage at Olga, ND on June 23, 1952. They made their home in Langdon where they raised their family. She was a faithful and dedicated woman with a special devotion to Mary and praying the Rosary. She was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church where she was a member of the Altar Society and Catholic Daughters.

Theresa enjoyed spending time with her family, and many good times were spent playing bingo and attending concerts. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Minnesota Twins and the Fighting Sioux. She was very proud of her family; her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought her much happiness. She enjoyed planting and growing flowers and came to be known for her cookies. She seemed to always be baking and delivering cookies to those in her life. Theresa was a volunteer at Maple Manor Care Center for many years and was a member of the Senior Citizen Center. She will be greatly missed.

Theresa is survived by her children: Catherine (Mike) Zeis of Langdon, ND, Mark Hiltner of Rock Springs, WY, Richard Hiltner of Washington, D.C., Beth (Wayne) Fylling of Jamestown, ND, Denise (Vincent) Brandner of Leola, SD, Daniel Hiltner of Minneapolis, MN, Lisa (Darren) Glynn of Perham, MN; grandchildren: Brendon Wenzel, Elise Hansen, Quentin Wenzel, Brant Fylling, Matt Fylling, Nathan Brandner, Jason Brandner, Joseph Brandner, Rachel Brandner, Nick Brandner, Patrick Glynn, Parker Glynn; four great-grandchildren; and sisters: Rachel (Orville) Johnson of Arvada, CO, Jackie Andrys of Grand Forks, ND, and Jeanette (Del) Roberts of Manly, Iowa.

Theresa was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, George.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 2, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church of Langdon, ND.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service starting at 7:00 on Friday, April 1, 2011 at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.

Heaven's Garden has received another flower.  Theresa was a very special lady to our family and my mother and I stayed many nights at her house.  She was always laughing and joking.  We used to laugh so hard we had tears in our eyes. Theresa you are loved and will be missed greatly.  Thoughts and prayers to the family.

Ms. Edie Waslaski

I always enjoyed visiting with your Mom when I was in Langdon, usually on Thursday night at bingo at the Senior Citizens Center.  She was a wonderful person and a great role model!  Your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.
