Olive was born June 7, 1921 to Edward Alfred and Christine (Overby) Hill.  She attended Moscow Township School and graduated from Langdon High School in the class of 1938.  She received her standard diploma from Mayville State and taught at Loam Number 1, Buffalo, and Strandquist, MN.    Ernest Waltz and Olive were married January 9, 1943 in Superior, where Olive was also employed.  After WWII they moved to Fargo where Olive was secretary for the State Seed Dept.  They were at Pasadena, CA for nine months before purchasing a farm in Perry Township in the late 1940’s where they farmed until the late 1980’s.  In 1959 Olive opened the Langdon Launderama, a coin operated self-service laundry at the corner of Highway 1 and 5.  An addition was built to accommodate a complete dry cleaning service, and the name was changed to Norge Village.  The business was sold in 1973.  In 1970 Ernest and Olive purchased Nick’s Lounge, previously owned by Nick and Vivian Kruk.  A new dining area and complete remodeling of the former building took place in 1973, and the place was named “Embers.”  The business was sold in 1978.  In 1980 Olive again went into business operating her “Meal Mobile”, a fast food concession mobile.  Olive was active in the Sweet Adelines and was active in community affairs.  She moved to Fargo in 2003.

There is no words I can say that will make the emptiness inside go away from the loss of a parent.  Your mother is only gone from  this earthly place. She is alive in each and every one of you.  My heart felt  condolence  to you all.  I only had the privilege to meet your mother a couple times,  but I know she was a very special person. I did get to hear her sing once, I will treasure that.  God Bless you all.
