Morgan Shea Hayes

Morgan Hayes, 15, of Langdon, ND, passed away after a courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday, May 25, 2011 at her home under the care of Hospice and surrounded by people who loved her dearly.

Morgan Shea Hayes was born June 2, 1995 at Williston, ND.  She and her family lived at Carson and Tioga before moving to Munich in 2000.  Morgan attended the Munich Public School from Kindergarten through 7th grade.  In 2008 she moved to Langdon where she currently was a member of the Langdon Area School sophomore class.  She was in band and was a cheerleader.  Morgan loved dogs, especially Buddie, Hannah, Tipper and Dani and wanted to be a veterinarian when she grew up.    Morgan was casual and laid back.  She operated on Morgan time and loved dressing in jammie pants and tank tops, usually in her favorite colors of pink and purple or pastel colors.  Morgan could usually be found with her pink blankies- one had been with her from birth, one from shortly after and one that was to be a replacement that got added to the first two.  No matter how tattered or worn they got, she wanted them with her, especially on chemo days.  She loved going to movies and watching TV.  Although she missed being at school, she especially enjoyed when her friends would come to check in on her for a visit.  Above all else, Morgan loved her family.  She was very proud of them and always wanted them together, around her, and happy.  She adored her sisters and her brother and especially lit up when her new little nieces were around.  Morgan and her family were able to enjoy a Make-a-Wish trip and then a cruise where her entire family was surrounding her.  She especially enjoyed swimming with her second favorite mammals, the dolphins.

Morgan is survived by her mom and step-dad: Julie and Rodney Agnes of Langdon, ND; her father and step-mom: Kurt and Jenn Hayes of Munich, ND; siblings: Bobbi Hayes of Fargo, Kristina Hayes of Fargo, Tiffany Agnes (Byron) of Grand Forks, ND, Natasha Agnes of Grand Forks, Jordyn Hayes of Fargo, Kalton Agnes of Langdon, ND; nieces:  Bobbi’s daughters Maci and Graci and Jordyn’s daughter Alyvia; grandpa Gene Hayes of Emerado, ND; grandparents: Arnold and LaVonne Monge of Jamestown, ND; and step-grandma Lucy Agnes of Bismarck, ND; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and special friends: Dylan Hoppe, Dallas Witzel, Quentin Bradley and Kale Christianson.

She was preceded in death by her grandma Loretta Hayes, step-brother Ian Hayes and step-grandpa Frank Agnes.

VISITATION will begin at 5:00 pm with a 7:00 pm Prayer Service all at the United Lutheran Church of Langdon, ND. There will also be visitation for one hour prior to the funeral service at the school on Wednesday.

SERVICES  will be Wednesday, June 1, 2011 at 2:00 pm at the Langdon Area High School.

If you are able to attend the services, we encourage you to wear comfy pink or purple clothes in honor of Morgan’s love for pink, purple, and all things comfortable and pastel.

We offer our sympathies to all of her family . Morgan used to come to play in our play house and sometimes stop in the house to visit. A friendly gal. Then one day she never came back. We missed her. Seems she grew past that stage in life.  May she rest in peace.

We hurt with you. Our hearts cry out to God for your comfort, strength and peace. May the Light of Eternity, Jesus Christ, dwell in your presence.  By faith Morgan was taken up so that she should not see death, and she was not found, because God had taken her. (based on Hebrews 11:5)
