Marion Domres

Marion Domres, 84, of Langdon died Sunday, June 13, 2010 at Maple Manor Care Center in Langdon, ND, where she had been a resident for the past year.

Marion Randall was born on December 13, 1925 at Maida, ND to Earl and Susan Cowan Randall.  She married Albert C. Domres of Wales, ND on September 15th, 1943 in Langdon, ND.  They farmed for many years and then built the Terry Motel in Langdon, ND.

She was a longtime member of the United Lutheran Church and the United Lutheran Women’s Organizations.  She enjoyed the friendship of many people.  She was adventurous and loved to travel, taking trips as far as England, New York and Branson, MO.  She enjoyed a cruise to the Carribean with her family and loved weekend fishing trips with her son at the lake, often catching the biggest fish. She loved her weekend shopping trips with her best friends.

Marion loved to cook and bake and spent a number of years working at the Langdon Senior Center.  Her family always looked forward to her baked goods, homemade jams and jellies and perogies.  The Aunt Sally cookies and lefse were her specialties.

Marion’s most loved memories were with her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren and spending time with them.  She will be greatly missed by her family and friends, but her memory will live on in their hearts.  She endured much this past year but never complained.   Despite her own health issues she always put her hand out to comfort others.

Marion is survived by daughters, Ardelle (Orin) Johnson of Aberdeen, SD, Connie (Mark) Kitchin of Langdon, ND, Linda (Norman) Korb of  Salt Lake City, UT, one son, Terry (Cindy) Domres of Minot, ND and son-in-law Charles Sunderland of Prescott, AZ, Grandchildren; Kevin (Becky) Johnson of Watertown, SD, Jamie (Belinda) Sunderland of Unalaska, AK, Marnie (Scott) Thielbar of Langdon, ND, Kyle (Robin) Johnson of Sioux Falls, SD,  Chad (Maryjo) Korb of Salt Lake City, UT, David (Jayne) Kitchin of Langdon, ND, Jennifer Korb, of Salt Lake City, UT, Meagan Domres, Lucas Domres and Brittany Domres all of Minot, ND,  Great-Grandchildren; Paige Johnson of Moorhead, MN, Maren Sunderland of Unalaska, AK, Mason Korb of Salt Lake City, UT, Morgan Thielbar,  Brennan & Nathan Kitchin all of Langdon, ND, Sisters:  Evelyn McDonald, Langdon, ND, Pearl (Noel) Pritchert, Valley City, ND, and Brother, Bill (Gladys) Randall, Gillette, WY.
