The Final Flight

Don't grieve for me, for now I'm free, I'm following the path God laid for me.

I took his hand when I heard his call, I turned my back and left it all.

I could not stay another day, To laugh, to love, to work, to play.

Tasks left undone must stay that way, I've found that peace at the end of the day.

If my parting has left a void, Then fill it with remembered joy.

A friendship shared, a laugh, a kiss, Ah, yes, these things too I will miss.

Be not burdened with times of sorrow, I wish you the sunshine of tomorrow.

My Life's been full, I savoured much, Good friends, good times, a loved one' touch.

Perhaps my time seemed all too brief, Don't lengthen it now with undue grief.

Lift up your heart and share with me, God wanted me now, He set me free.

                                                                       (Unknown)

I will always love Justin. He was a great person. I always had fun times with Justin.... like, When Grace and I fell asleep, You told us to go to bed, Grace went and sat on the toilet, and I went and layed on the hallway floor. I have tons more memories with Justin, but that is my favorite one. You will always be loved but never forgoten.  I will hold the memories of you with me forever.

 Love,

 Madison McArdle

Not how did he die, but how did he live?

Not what did he gain, but what did he give?

These are the units to measure the worth of a man as a man, regardless of birth.

Not, what was his church, nor what was his creed?

But had he befriended those really in need?

Was he ever ready, with word of good cheer, to bring back a smile, to banish a tear?

Not what did the sketch in the newspaper say, but how many were sorry when he passed away.

You really were the best.  And I hope, more than anything, that you left us knowing how many hearts you touched.  For reasons we may never understand God was ready for you. I would tell you to look over your family and give them the strength they need to heal, but I already know you are because that is who you were when you were alive so of course that is who you would be now.  May you rest in peace Just.  I'll miss you more than words could every explain...

Love, Mandy Metzger

May the Lord's love and comfort embrace all his loved ones.

RIP my friend. Too soon and such a great loss to so many.        Tonya Bushee

We want to add our sympathy to the many others. We met Justin when he was a little boy but have been keeping up with his life through his Sister Tina Hall. We can't immagine the shock and the emotion that over comes one on learning of the accident. We only know how shocked we were on hearing of the death. Our first thought was to pray for Justin and for his family. And we continue to do so today. May God give you strength at this sad time.

Betty & Gene Hall

To Justin's Family:  My heartfelt sympathy to you in the loss of your son.  Words cannot express what is in my heart.  I am Gail Johnson (Matt's Mom) from Pipestone, MN.  Justin was a fun-loving young man, and he will be missed by all.  Matt and his friends will miss him, but the memories of their living together, working together and traveling together will always be a reminder of the great friendship that they had.  God Bless You all.

Justin was a wonderful man.  We got to know him in Omaha for the short time he was here.  He was good friends with our son, Robby.  My fondest memory of Justin was at bootcamp a few months ago.  We were all struggling and laughing at the same time.  We always enjoyed his company.  His smile was contageous.  He will truly be missed by all who knew him. Our thoughts and prayers are with you.

Randy and Cindy Grell

To the family of Justin Mikkelson,

I want to send my sincere sympathy for the loss of Justin. I lived as a neigbor to the Mikkelsons during my employement at Langdon Soil Conservation District, and worked with Dennis about 7 years. Justin and my son Bill were friends during the time we lived there. Justin was a great fishing partner for me on many occasions and spent numerous hours at my house. His passing was a unbelievable loss to me and my heart felt sympathy is extended to Dennis as he was a great friend for all these years. May the families faith in God help them through this loss.

Galen Briese

I'm sorry I couldn't make it in for the services. Justin was a close and dear friend and he will be greatly missed.
