John Iverson, 82, of Langdon, ND passed away Wednesday, December 02, 2009, at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.

 

John Arnold Iverson was born April 10, 1927 to Hilbert and Margreth (Solhoi) Iverson in Harvey Township, Cavalier County.  He grew up and attended school in Harvey Township and began farming with his father.  John and Eileen June Klein were united in marriage on June 16, 1961 at Rosehill church in Munich, ND.  John continued to farm with his father until 1962 when they moved to West Hope Township where they farmed.  John and Eileen moved to their present home in Langdon in 1966 and farmed in Loam Township.

 

John was active in the community.  He was elected as a Cavalier County Commissioner in 1982 and was appointed to the Carnegie Library Board in 1985.  He was a member of the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon.

 

John is survived by his wife Eileen of Langdon, daughter Joneen Iverson (Eric Tweton)     of  Grand Forks, ND, daughter Jayna (Ed) Hoffarth of Langdon, son Jon (Carissa) Iverson of Langdon, ND, grandchildren Hayden and Reese Hoffarth, Jakob, Marcus and Maggie Iverson, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

 

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Jodean Arlyn, brother Howard Iverson, sisters Ella, Ella Helena, and Irene Welsh.

 

VISITATION  will take place on  Friday December 4, 2009 from 4pm to 7pm at the Brooks Funeral Home of Langdon, ND.  Visitation will also take place for one hour before the time of the services at the church on Saturday.

 

SERVICES will be held on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at 11:00am at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND.

 

Interment will take place at Vang Cemetery, Vang, ND.

So sorry to hear of John's death.  My condolences to the families and especially to Eileen.   Keep his memories in your mind and things will get easier.  He was the last of the first cousins in America, the rest are in Norway and I think only one is left there also.
