Arnold Waslaski

Arnold Waslaski, 74, of Langdon, ND passed away with his family by his side on Monday, April 20, 2009 at the Cavalier County Memorial Hospital in Langdon.

Arnold James Waslaski was born to Stanley and Catherine (Klebowitz) Waslaski in Langdon, ND on July 25, 1934.  He attended rural school near Loma, ND and at St. Alphonsus Catholic School in Langdon, ND.  He worked for Peter Kiewit Construction Company before returning to the family farm in North Loma Twp.  On October 25, 1958 he married Audrey Rose.   Arnold was a township officer for North Loma, a member of the Eagles Club, and a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church. 

Arnold loved to spend time with his family taking vacations, fishing, camping and boating.  Arnold especially enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow and taking in their baseball, basketball, soccer and hockey games.  He also enjoyed taking them fishing, boating, camping and just spending time with them playing games.  A special memory of this was when He and Audrey celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last summer at Detroit Lakes surrounded by all his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.  His hobbies include; video taping, taking photographs, researching on the internet, collecting toy tractors, spending time on the family farm, sight seeing, taking Sunday drives and visiting historic sites.  

Arnold is survived by his wife Audrey of Langdon, his children:  Susan (Jay) Peterson of Devils Lake, ND, Kevin (Wendy) of Langdon, Roger of Langdon, Douglas (Tracy) of Gilbert, AZ, Wayne (Janelle) of Eagan, MN; Grandchildren:  Bryce (Erika) Peterson, Heather (Justin) Stromme, Jayla Peterson, Gavin, Caitlin, Logan, Taylor, Justin, Hunter, Carson, and Grant Waslaski; great-grandchildren: Brylie Peterson, Keegan and Livia Stromme, and an expected great-grandchild in September; a sister:Elizabeth Williamson of Grafton, ND; several sisters-in-law, and many nieces and nephews. 

Arnold was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: John, Floyd, Richard, Stanley, Edward, Frank, Phillip, Joseph, Bernard; sisters: Helen Waslaski and Marion Gerth.

 

VISITATION will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon, ND on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 from 3-5pm.

PRAYER SERVICE will be held at the Brooks Funeral Home in Langdon on Wednesday, April 22, 2009 at 7:30pm.

MASS OF CHRISTIAN BURIAL will be held at the St. Alphonsus Catholic Church in Langdon on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 2 p.m.

My deepest sympathy to the entire family. It was an honor to take care of Arnold while he was in the hospital. I was so sadden to hear of his passing but know that he is at peace now and he was truly loved by his family---treasure your memories.
