Allen Loewen, 84, of Westminster, CO and formerly of Alsen, ND passed away Saturday, September 5, 2009 at St. Anthony’s North Hospital in Westminster, CO. 

 
Allen H. Loewen was born July 20, 1925 in Cavalier County, ND to Abraham and Nettie (Goertzen) Loewen.  He grew up and attended school in the Alsen area. Allen was united in marriage to Sarah Janzen on August 1, 1943 at Munich, ND.  The couple made their home on the family farm near Alsen, ND.

 
Allen moved to Colorado in 1997 following the death of his wife.  He resided in Arvada and later in Westminster, CO.
 
He is survived by his son Ronald Loewen of Denver, CO;  daughter Paulette (Odell) Johnson of Arvada, CO; grandson Kevin (Anna) Loewen, Denver, CO; granddaughter Tamara (David) Goodwin, Highlands Ranch, CO; great-granddaughter Abigail Loewen, Denver, CO;  sister Betty (Marvin) Lowen, Salem, OR

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Sarah, son Curtis, daughter Judith, brothers Abraham and  Earl and sisters Kathryn Sumner, Edna Boese, Sadie Loewen and Evelyn Taves.

  
SERVICES will be held Sunday September 27, 2009 at 1:30pm at the Emmanuel Evangelical Church of Langdon, ND with the Reverend Byron Dealey officiating.

 
INTERMENT will take place at Rosehill Cemetery, Rural Langdon, ND.
