Agnes Waslaski, 79, of Langdon, ND, passed away Monday, February 20, 2012, at the Maple Manor Care Center of Langdon, ND.
Agnes Beauchamp was born on December 28, 1932, at Walhalla, ND, to Avila and Eva Beauchamp. Her father died when she was very young and her mother remarried Henry Ledoux. She was raised and educated in Olga, ND. Agnes was united in marriage to Philip J. Waslaski on September 16, 1958. They moved with Philip’s work in road construction from Minot, to Glasgow, MT, to Miles City, MT, to Parshall, ND and finally to Langdon, ND. In Langdon they established the Waslaski Trailer Court in the mid 1960’s. During the ABM missile years the court was quite full and Agnes attended to the daily management while Philip was traveling with road construction much of the time. She took pride in always keeping the large area maintained well over her years of ownership. Agnes worked at the Langdon Elementary School in the Hot Lunch Program. She enjoyed baking, crafts, sewing, and being with family. She was a caregiver at heart and enjoyed giving of herself to others. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and aunt who loved her family dearly. Agnes was an active member in the VFW Women’s Auxiliary and the St. Alphonsus Altar Society.
Agnes is survived by her children: Phyllis (Jerry) Swenson of Bennett, CO, Jeff Waslaski of Langdon, ND, Wanda (Ray) Howatt of Langdon, ND, Glenda (John) Adams of Raleigh, NC, Eva Waslaski of Fargo, ND; grandchildren: Jenica (Brian) Adams, Jeremy Day, Jayla (Ethen) Askvig, Jaime Howatt (fiancé Brett Zeis); great-grandchildren: Hadley Adams and Dyson Askvig; brothers and sisters: Doreen Sundeen of Detroit Lakes, MN, Leon (Alice) Beauchamp of Falls City, OR, Victor (Joyce) Beauchamp of Richland, MI, Yvette Kram of Walhalla, ND, Marie (Ben) Kartes of Seattle, WA, Alyce Kartes of Langdon, ND, Yvonne (Jim) Kartes of Lake Havasu, AZ, Lorette (Jim) Quarm of Madison, OH, Henry (Nola) Ledoux of Albion, MI; sisters-in-law: Elizabeth Williamson of Grafton, ND, Rita Waslaski of Langdon, ND, Audrey Waslaski of Langdon, ND, LaVelda Waslaski of Park River, ND, Edna Waslaski of Valley City, ND; and numerous nieces and nephews.
